Amitabh Bachchan will be honored by the ‘International Federation of Film Archives’ (FIAF). Amitabh Bachchan is the first person in Indian cinema to be awarded the FIAF Award for his contribution to the world of film industry. Amitabh Bachchan, Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan will honor Big B on March 19 in an online event. Scorsese and Nolan have also been awarded FIAF awards.

FIAF President Frédéric Mere said in a statement that the 20th annual awards ceremony of the FIAF will be held this year. No one can be better than the biggest film star in the world to make this momentous occasion memorable… who embraced, understood and promoted film conservation for many years.
He said that by honoring Amitabh Bachchan with the prestigious FIAF award, we want to show the world how rich and diverse the film legacy is.
Amitabh Bachchan was nominated by the Film Heritage Foundation, affiliated to the FIAF. At the same time, Amitabh Bachchan said in a statement that he is feeling very honored by getting the award for what he is ‘fully committed’ to. Bachchan also emphasized that it is important that film collections are being given importance in India.
