Sherlyn Chopra has been granted anticipatory bail by the Bombay High Court. After a FIR was filed against her at the Mumbai Police Cyber Cell under different parts of the Indecent Representation of Women Act and the Information Technology Act, the actress went to the Bombay High Court.
Sherlyn Chopra has also been ordered by the High Court to appear before the Investigating Officer on March 15, 16, and 17, as well as as required thereafter. If Chopra is arrested in the case, she will have to post a personal bond of Rs 25,000 and one or two securities before being released. Before Sherlyn Chopra went to the High Court, her appeal had been dismissed by the Mumbai Sessions Court.

A former Customs and Central Excise officer, Madhukar Keni, filed a complaint with the cyber cell alleging that some websites were publishing pornographic material on the internet. After checking the informant’s complaint, the cyber cell concluded that many web sites and premium OTT platforms were publishing pornographic images. Keni also said that when Sherlyn Chopra’s name is Googled, pornographic videos appear on the computer. He saved the videos on a pen drive and handed it over to the cops as evidence, after which Sherlyn was charged with the crime in 2020.
Sherlyn Chopra ‘s lawyer’s statement
Chopra’s lawyer told the court that she had not given anyone permission to publish her post, and that the material the complainant was referring to was actually stolen. She went on to say that she has been a victim of copyright infringement herself. She also said in court that she was willing to assist the police investigation. Sherlyn Chopra’s appeal, on the other hand, has not been dismissed by the court. Her case has been rescheduled for March 23.
